The end performance from dance company OrganWork’s Choreographer training course Terra Co., the third such performance held since the course began in 2018. Eight young choreographers and two participants from last year’s course created and staged a work under the training initiative, which focuses on experiencing the process of learning, creating and presenting/performing. Shintaro Hirahara was the principal instructor for a total of 11 course sessions, which also featured guest instructors Hokuto Kodama, Masayuki Kagei, Ryoff Karma and Nao Yoshigai, helping participants to learn about choreography and create works from a more diverse perspective. The step-by-step creative process for the course involves discussion revolving around midterm presentations and other components, after which participants craft and complete their works by continuous retrospective review.
