During the Covid pandemic, it was difficult for a large number of people to gather together, and ideas were explored for activities that were possible under these challenging circumstances. Kodomo Design Museum is an ongoing design project by the children, which questions the social topics of ‘diversity, inclusivity, space (environment)’ through design (understanding, exploring, proposing, realising).
Kodomochounaikai Secretariat
The children form their own design team called ‘Kodomochounaikai’. Through various design exercises, the children play and learn together, and organise their own workshops and ‘Festivals’ to engage with the local area and community with a low level of support from the adults in the ‘Secretariat’.
This is to encourage the self-learning discipline in the children. Any discussions and platforms for collaboration also offer opportunities for the children to engage with social issues and individuals from various backgrounds.
