Giovanni Bottesini cannot be avoided when talking about the history of the double bass. This concert with an all-Bottesini program being held on the 200th anniversary of his birth is intended to give people who don’t know about him the chance to learn about his works and communicate their appeal.

Milan Kawamura
Born in Kyoto in Kyoto Prefecture. Began studying double bass from the age of 12. Graduated from the Faculty of Music at Tokyo University of the Arts. Currently enrolled in a training course at Toho Orchestra Academy. To date she has studied under Tsutomu Takeda, Hiroshi Ikematsu, Shu Yoshida, and Shinji Nishiyama, In addition Kawamura has taken numerous master classes given by famous double bass performers from Japan and overseas. She has participated in the Seiji Ozawa Music Academy program, and appeared in the Kitakyushu International Music Festival.
