Outline of the work
One cold morning, I decided to go on a journey.
She had promised to meet during the holidays, but she had been gone for some time. I set out on a journey to look for her, going on rumors that she should be in “the town by the sea.”
I tried to create a work that gets close to the “individual,” something directed at each person; to the one and only “you” whose face I don’t know. The aim was also to spark the creation of new artistry through the making and presenting of new animation and video works.
Graduated from Musashino Art University, and from Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation.
She creates hand-drawn, ink, and watercolor illustrations, drawings, and video works. Works to date include “Fruits in the bathroom” (2017), “Gals” (nominated for the Animafest Zagreb 2018 Student Competition), “Our house” (selected for THE 18TH HIROSHIMA INTERNATIONAL ANIMATION FESTIVAL, The Best of Stars of Students category), and “Plantes et flueurs de voyage Dessins naturalists” (nominated for New Chitose Airport International Animation Festival 2020 Japan Competition).
