Outline

This concert explores the possibilities of wooden musical instruments under the theme of dance, looking at the diverse tones produced by string orchestra, the marimba, the koto, and the shakuhachi. Organizers hope to broaden the performative expression of wooden instruments and convey their charm and potential to audiences.

Kinoongakukai Executive Committee
A series of performances called “Concert with wooden instruments” has been held since May 2023 under the theme “exploring the possibilities of wooden musical instruments.” The concerts combine instruments from a wide range of genres, including string, wind, percussion, traditional Japanese instruments, and folk instruments. The Committee also commissions new works to young composers. In addition, it actively promotes the appeal of music featuring wooden instruments through outreach activities, visiting performances etc.
