This is an event where organizers work in tandem with the local community to safeguard and cultivate traditional performing arts, with a focus on rakugo.
The aim is to make local people aware of the culture that originally existed in the Koenji area of supporting young entertainers and helping them secure performance opportunities. A further aim is to create an environment encouraging residents to become more familiar with yose (Japanese vaudeville) culture by way of inexpensive admission fees and venues in easily accessible locations such as stores, temples, and shrines.
