Outline

This concert entitled“Yume no Kotosagi” featured a selection of five pieces of music inspired by classical performing arts and literature. The works were performed by Tomoya Nakai on the KOTO and 25-string KOTO, Hiroyasu Nakajima on KOTO and WAGON, and Noriko Matsuzaka on SANGEN.

JAPATORA
JAPATORA is headed by KOTO player Tomoya Nakai and was founded in 2013 with the aim of producing performances, live shows, and events revolving around KOTO concerts. Nakai performs, arranges, and writes pieces ranging from classical KOTO works to original compositions for the 25-string KOTO. As well as collaborative performances with Japanese and Western instruments, Nakai also participates in cross-cultural stage productions featuring different disciplines such as reading/recital, theater, kabuki, noh, opera, ballet, film, and dance.
