Outline

“Ongaku x Bungaku” is an art salon series hosted by pianist and writer Shizuka Shimoyama, who guides the audience into the world of “music and literature.” The concept is a “modern salon” that mixes artistic and intellectual information. The first session was themed on the novel “Don Quixote” by the great Spanish writer Cervantes, and the second session was themed on George Sand, who was also known as Chopin’s lover. The concerts featured music performances, readings, and talks. In addition to Shizuka Shimoyama, the guests who appeared included cellist Yosuke Ozawa, baritone Koya Muramatsu, actor Noboru Sato (all first-session guests), violinist Tamaki Kanaseki, mezzo-soprano Yuki Akimoto, and actriss Maki Shirai (all second-session guests).
