This performance features the first fully-fledged play by Shinoda, who has engaged in a variety of international and multicultural activities over the years. Resident in Bangkok since 2012, her move overseas brought the historical dramatic device of tragedy to her attention. Shinoda uses the framework of a tragedy to take a fresh look at Tokyo, the city where she was born and brought up, and which nurtured her values and creativity.
【Chiharu Shinoda】
Borns in Tokyo, in 1982. She starts in her career with FAIFAI, Japanese theatre company, whichwas founded in 2004 by students of the same faculty of Tama Art University until 2012. Shinoda took a major role in the group, mainly direction, scriptwriting, and organizing events. They were invited on domestic and international festival or theater, and got the first prize of Zürcher Theater Spektakels ZKB Patronage 2010. Shinoda was nominated as the finalist of Toyota Choreography Award 2012.
