The eldest son, Katsutoshi, who aspires to be a film director, faces setbacks and returns from Tokyo to his family home in Higashi-Osaka.
As his family, devoted members of the religious group “S,” urges him to participate in their activities, he learns that his sister, Taeko, has been arranged to meet Asada, a colleague and member of “S,” for a potential marriage.
Meanwhile, Katsutoshi begins receiving visits from Kato, another member of “S”…
This work is created by the playwright and directors, who are personally affected by the issue of second-generation religious followers, incorporating their own perspective.
While often framed as a variation of the “toxic parent” issue, the play goes beyond that by portraying the role of religion as a community, shedding light on the complexities of this issue.
