The festival’s forerunner was Physical Theater Festival, which collaborated on overseas projects from 1999 onwards. The launch of STORE HOUSE Collection was triggered by requests from companies taking part in Physical Theater Festival, as well as the opening of UENO STORE HOUSE in 2011. Profile

STORE HOUSE
Established to provide a variety of companies with a reasonably priced theater space, and to serve as a base for planning and producing theatrical performances. As it attaches importance to the role of a theater as a place that links those who express themselves with those who watch, it is equipped with a lobby, despite its small size.
The festivals that it organizes feature groups from both within Japan and overseas and demonstrate the emphasis it places on a high awareness of the creation of performing arts, as well as the future prospects thereof. Between 1999 and 2006, it hosted the Physical Theater Festival, and launched the STORE HOUSE Collection in 2013.
