Butoh dance company Dairakudakan is led by one of Japan’s most famous Butoh artists Akaji Maro, who is also actively involved in television and movie projects. With its unique dance style known as Temputenshiki, the troupe, which has successfully performed abroad in places like Europe and the US, has created numerous works through accumulating and constructing lost or forgotten movements and gestures under the philosophy that “being born in the world is a great talent itself.”Dairakudakan will present this special new reworked version of one of its repertoire pieces“Crazy Camel”for Fantastic Site (special performances at Tokyo Festival 2020) in a one-off performance.
