Classical music and video collaboration with six museums in Ueno
Showcase of musical performances with different programs featuring Tokyo Music Competition winners

We will hold “Around the UENO PARK with Music 2021,” a classical music and video-based collaboration.

In the past, “Around the UENO PARK with Music” has been an event which as the name suggests takes visitors on a “sound tour” from concert hall to museum, museum to art museum in a special type of concert that provides people with a cultural experience while they listen to live music at the cultural facilities and institutions acting as venues and filling Ueno Park with wonderful music. However, given the current situation regarding coronavirus, for this year’s event we are trying our hand at something new based on the program to date. We have created six videos featuring the six involved cultural institutions in Ueno Park (Tokyo National Museum, National Museum of Nature and Science, Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, Tokyo Bunka Kaikan, Ueno Royal Museum, and Sogakudo of the Former Tokyo Music School), as well as wonderful musical performances inspired by and evoking each of those institutions.
The performances will feature different programs focusing on Tokyo Music Competition winners, a variety of musicians which includes a string quartet, a wind quintet, and pianists. Visitors can look forward to an extraordinary and unique experience via the delights of Ueno’s arts and culture scene.
