TURN FES 2021 will offer encounters and interaction with artists through museum-based events such as exhibitions and movie screenings, as well as online programs rolled out on the website.
Our lives nowadays demand considerable change. We each respond to this change in a variety of ways. Even those who are confused by change may find pointers towards new promise and possibilities by adopting a TURN-like perspective.
Supervisor: Katsuhiko Hibino (Artist / Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and professor in the Department of Inter-media Art, Tokyo University of the Arts)
Project Director: Tsukasa Mori (Project Coordination Division Program Director, Arts Council Tokyo)
*Details of each program may be subject to change without notice. In addition, the event at this venue may be canceled if a state of emergency or restrictions on the holding of events is announced by the government or prefectural authorities.
*In order to avoid close contact, we are limiting the number of people who can enter the exhibition.
*This event will be conducted in Japanese.
Exhibits resulting from collaborations between artists and various organizations will be displayed, as well as movie screenings and more, to enable visitors to get a deeper and increased understanding on accessibility and diversity issues.
As well as introducing the year-round activities from the TURN Interactive Program and TURN LAND, TURN FES will provide an opportunity to think about stratagems for sustainable activity, sharing our new approaches arising from TURN JOURNAL, published in response to social changes from 2020, and TURN Lab, a research lab collective of TURN conducted by artists and experts from various fields.
