Genre:

  • Lecture / Symposium

We are holding a pre-event for the filmmaking talent development program “Talents Tokyo 2024”. Alumni will discuss gender awareness and work styles in the film industry.

The main program for Talents Tokyo 2024 will take place from Monday, November 25, 2024 through Sunday, December 1, 2024. Under this year’s theme “To Love is To See”, projects brought to the program by young and promising Asian directors and producers will be polished by experts and professionals. Participants will also publicly present their projects on Thursday, November 28 (advance registration required to attend the public presentation).

Prior to this, Talents Tokyo 2024 will offer a pre-event talk featuring program alumni as guests. In addition to guest producers Masumi Soga (TT2011) and Sachiko Miyase (TT2022), the talk will feature film director Miku Kitagawa (TT2020) with filmmaker Tatsuhito Utagawa as host. Our guests offer an on-the-ground perspective on the realities of gender consciousness and work styles in the film industry – a topic which is finally under discussion – and state their expectations for change going forward.
