  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Music

Outline

The inspiration for the theme of this concert series came from Baudelair’s poem “Correspondaces” in which he writes: Comme de longs échos qui de loin se confondent / Dans une ténébreuse et profonde unité, / Vaste comme la nuit et comme la clarté, / Les parfums, les couleurs et les sons se répondent.
From the image of the poem in which such diverse elements as scents, sounds and colours correspond in the spiritual world came the idea of programming such music as original composition and arrangement or paraphrase, folk music and Western Classical Music in order to appreciate the differences, contrasts and corresponding elements.
