This project brings Japan’s “art industry market” into focus and maintains data related to this market. It endeavors to report survey results and present them visually in an easy-to-understand way, and to diffuse the results of its work widely in Japan and other countries. These results will play a useful role in short-, medium- and long-term planning carried out by individuals and groups implementing art-related programs. They can be applied as data for use in hypothesis testing in connection with domestic art industry policies, in order to verify effectiveness based on numerical values obtained from strategically designed consumer surveys, and actualize objectives for the future in an appropriate way.
【ART TOKYO ASSOCIATION】
Art Tokyo Association is the organizer of Art Fair Tokyo, one of Japan’s largest international art fairs. It possesses knowhow gained from having produced international art fairs since 1992, as well as a network of art museums and galleries and cultural administration organizations in Japan and other countries. In this project, in addition to drawing on its experience in the art market through fairs and its strength in achieving results, it combines new original surveys of objective numerical data that could not be gathered in a complete way through surveys by individual projects only.
