Outline

This is the first solo exhibition in Japan by the Berlin-based artist duo Jay Chung and Q Takeki Maeda. After discovering the personal scrapbook of Teruo Nishiyama, who continually photographed and recorded the 1960s avant-garde art scene in Japan from a spectator’s distance, Jay Chung and Q Takeki Maeda have created a duplicate edition of this scrapbook as an exhibition and artwork based on Nishiyama’s scrapbook. From a distant and elusive perspective, they depict the story of a society surrounded by art.
