Outline

In photographer Gentaro Ishizuka’s first solo exhibition for two years in the 700-square-meter exhibition space of Gallery 916 (Minato City, Tokyo), thirty large prints will be on show including old and new works. The pieces on display comprise photos from his “PIPELINE” series of landscapes with pipelines shot all over the world, and the “N/P” series using simultaneous negative and positive exposure.

【Gentaro Ishizuka】
Photographer. He won the Photographic Society of Japan Newcomer’s Award in 2004, and in 2011 received Japanese Government Agency for Cultural Affairs funding for the dispatch of Japanese artists overseas. In 2012 he received a Pola Art Foundation Grant for Overseas Study by Young Artists. In 2014 he was the recipient of the Higashikawa New Photographer Award for “PIPELINE ICELAND/ALASKA” (Kodansha), his first compilation of photographs of pipelines, shot with an 8×10 camera.
