From the earliest times, the evolution of Japanese culture has been rooted in living alongside nature. This project aims to communicate these traditions to a considerable number of Vietnamese people in a live ikebana performance at a theater and university in Ho Chi Minh City. In cooperation with local bamboo craftspeople, a staggering 3-meter piece will be created using a woven bamboo boat.

The Association for the Promotion of Traditional Japanese Culture (NPO) plans to promote and develop traditional culture by showcasing Japan’s traditional culture to the world and handing it down to the next generation. Particularly active in efforts to communicate the splendor of Japan’s traditional culture to other Asian countries, the association hopes to tie up with universities and roll out a program of cultural exchange designed to foster future talent. The aim is to transmit traditional Japanese culture to other Asian countries not only for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics but on an ongoing basis.
