The theme of the 16th dance ga mitai! is “Newcomer Series Award Winners: Where They Are Now”. The program features dancers who won the Newcomer Award or the Audience Award at the dance ga mitai! *Newcomer Series in the past. Each of the dancers gives a solo performance along with two other award winners at the Newcomer Series 12 held in January 2014.

The dance ga mitai! Executive Committee is a new dance company that originates from dance ga mitai! planned by a small theater called die pratze. Representative of die pratze Jiro Yoshimura, the other members of die pratze, and dancers, actors, and critics who had been involved in the project formed the company. Centering on the dance ga mitai! project, the company continues to undertake production work as well as curation. In addition to the dance ga mitai! series, it has planned and produced the Newcomer Series. In July 2012, Keiichi Hayashi became the Representative.
