HYBRID MUSIC presents a joyful concert that relates music to technology. We integrate the music machines of Martin Riches, a world famous creator of automatic performance system, with up-and-coming musicians. In this HYBRID performance, acoustic musicians collaborate with Riches’ machines, originally inspired by the culture and philosophy of 18th century automata, controlled by 21st century computer softwares. Composers from Germany, UK, and Japan including Masahiro Miwa, and soloists from Japan, US, and Italy, together with an ensemble from Japan and Germany, make this unique event possible.
