Outline

The Mikuni Yanaihara Project will tour nationwide for the first time performing the play Hey Timon! Let’s Think Positive, which won the 56th Annual Kunio Kishida Drama Award in 2012. This play concerns the unlucky and unfortunate Timon, who lives his life in an almost unbelievably positive manner. Three actors (Shoichiro Suzuki, Izumi Kasagi, and Keisuke Yamamoto) will be performing the beautiful and dense dialogue accompanied with the powerful movements that only Mikuni Yanaihara could write. Their performance shares with the audience the energy of life.

Profile

The Mikuni Yanaihara Project
Mikuni Yanaihara, Leader and Coreographer of the director group Nibroll, began this project in 2005 with the goal of creating dramatic theater plays. Her comically exaggerated selfish characters spin around on the stage, as if both their words and bodies are dancing. Her 2007 solo dance, Sayonara, won the first Japan Dance Forum Award. Her 2008 Class 2, the 3rd Grade participated in the Aichi Prefectural Theatrical Festival. In 2009 she appeared on NHK’s Theatre Collection. In 2010 her Hey Timon! Let’s Think Positive won the award for excellence at the Shakespeare Competition.
