It has long been misunderstood by many that the Tamasudare performance has originated from China, which is actually a highly respectable, indisputably a Japanese performing art.
Over 200 Tamasudare performers from all regions of Japan will gather to perform this art. This will be the first-ever “moving exposition” of all unique pro and amateur Tamasudare performance that will take place for 6 hours, each and every one of them full of personalities. We will be holding a workshop at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics & Paralympics to promote the “Japan’s most low-brow traditional performing arts”, an art that is gaining popularity across Japan, to share the experience with the world.
