Tokyo International Music Festival Pre Meeting is a globally-unparalleled gathering of amateur performing groups hailing mainly from Tokyo and the Kanto region, and covering such diverse genres as brass band, marching band, orchestra, string orchestra, chorus, jazz and Pops.
As well as providing a forum for friendship and exchange between music organizations in different genres through concerts and music clinics, the event aims to advance and develop music culture, and contribute to the cultivation of the next generation of musicians.
On Friday, May 5 (public holiday), there will be a concert (featuring six groups), clinics for different musical instruments (eight courses), a free concert (featuring four groups), the opening ceremony and a symposium.
On Saturday, May 6, there will be a concert (featuring seven groups), clinics for different musical instruments (eight courses), a free concert (featuring four groups), and the closing ceremony.
Taking part will be amateur groups predominantly from top Japanese high schools such as Tokai University Takanawadai Senior High School and Makuhari Sohgoh High School. Serving as clinic instructors will be members of the NHK Symphony Orchestra and the NHK Symphony Danyu Orchestra, university music lecturers and musicians affiliated with the Japan Jazz Association.

Band leader of the BLUESKY Orchestra and leading drummer and percussionist. As a music producer he has worked on commercials such as “There’s Always Tomorrow” for Coca-Cola, various advertisements, videos, production and direction for artists, and more.
He is committed to the coaching of junior and high school students and the promotion of music through his role as a producer for the ALL JAPAN SWING BRASS SUPER LIVE tournament.
