Outline

This theatrical production is the first new and original work for four years to have been staged by mum&gypsy/Takahiro Fujita, who attract attention across a variety of genres. The venue is LUMINE 0, located within Shinjuku’s new fashion building. German shoe brand Trippen provided assistance with costumes.

Profile

mum&gypsy
Founded in 2007 to stage the theatrical works of playwright and director Takahiro Fujita. Since then, the company has continued to stage works at the breathtaking pace of one every two months. Fujita won the 56th Kishida Prize for Drama (Kishida Kunio Gikyokushō) for a work staged when he was 26. Since 2013, in conjunction with his own original productions, he has staged collaborative works with artists from a range of genres. In recent years, he has partnered with Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre to present new interpretations of works by Shakespeare and Shuji Terayama based on close textual analysis.
