Norimizu Ameya
Born in 1961, Norimizu Ameya was placed in charge of the sound technician at Jokyo Gekijo before organizing Tokyo Gran Guignol and going independent as a director in 1984. He shifted the center of his activities to contemporary art beginning in the 1990s. He has since broadened his creative activities around the theme of interest in the essence of life, without sticking to theater, art, or any other particular genre. He resumed full theatrical activities a play in 2007. In 2013, he staged “Blue Sheet,” which he wrote for studio performance, and won the 58th Kishida Kunio Drama Award for it. In addition, he has appeared as an actor in works by Takahiro Fujita, Mum & Gypsy, and Yasunori Ikunishi, and collaborated with musicians of other generations, such as Yoshihide Otomo, Fukuyuki Yamakawa, Tavito Nanao, Tenniscoats, MARK, and Ichiko Aoba. His wide-ranging activities extend to work with Grand Guignol Mirai, a unit organized with the art critic Noi Sawaragi.
