SUKIYAKI TOKYO is the satellite edition of the SUKIYAKI MEETS THE WORLD FESTIVAL, major world music festival in Japan taking place in Nanto-City, Toyama every August since 1991. It introduces performances of international artists of the highest level in the world music scene. For this 9th edition of SUKIYAKI TOKYO, it will welcome 3 top class units: Aca Seca Trio (Argentina), Gili Yalo (Israel/Ethiopia), The Paradise Bangkok Molam International Band (Thailand) for live performances and a wide panel of talk sessions and workshops. World Music is a modern genre connecting roots, traditions and identities to the creativity of our time. SUKIYAKI TOKYO will offer 2 intense days to experience the World Music beating from the heart of Tokyo.

【SUKIYAKI MEETS THE WORLD COMMITTEE】
All the program is defined by a volunteer staff team (250 persons), gathering every Thursday all year long (25 to 30 meetings per year) to decide the shapes and the contents of the festival.
Every stage, every workshop, every conference is led by a volunteer team. Artist care, stage sound & lights, instruments, promotion, information documents, designs, catering, etc… are thought and entirely handled by volunteers.
The Sukiyaki Festival is the heart of a network of venues in Japan, producing events, performances and workshops before or after the festival, in Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Fukuoka, Sapporo, etc… SUKIYAKI TOKYO, SUKIYAKI OKINAWA(since 2015) and SUKIYAKI NAGOYA (since 2015), are gathering attention in the whole country.
