After an absence of three years, the Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra (YNSO) welcomes back Tatsuya Shimono, who did successive stints as Resident Conductor and then Principal Guest Conductor at YNSO for a decade or so. With a focus on contemporary composers, Shimono’s unique program encompassed the two opposing axes of stillness and motion, and the former Soviet Union and the United States, communicating the diverse appeal of music to the audience.
