Co. Un Yamada performed an all-male version of “one◆piece”, which premiered in Tokyo in 2014, at Sziget Festival, one of Europe’s largest music festivals held every summer in Budapest (Hungary).Additionally, in 2017 and 2018, the company was invited to Tallinn in Estonia, which has cultivated an audience for contemporary dance. The troupe caused a stir locally in the media and elsewhere with their performance of “The Seven Deadly Sins,” designed to champion dance works originating in Tokyo.

Co.Un Yamada
Dance company founded in 2002 by troupe leader Un Yamada. Its ten or more dancers boast diverse experience and backgrounds, aiding the coexistence of an enormous level of teamwork and individuality. As well as presenting a new work every year, the company plans and manages a number of events such as repertoire tours and collaborations involving opera and musicals as well as music and traditional performing arts.
In addition to holding workshops at nationwide theaters, educational institutes and welfare facilities, the company collaborates with organizations in other fields such as urban development, PR for special local products, food and drink, fashion and IT, with a view to creating new relationships between art and the audience, artists and society going forward.
