The screening program comprised the open competition division “East Asian Experimental Film Competition” introducing the latest trends in the East Asian region in the field of moving image art, and the invitational divisions “Experimental Panorama” and “Filmmakers in Focus.” The festival also included the special feature “On Screen: the Act of Screening” which focused on film screening itself. As well as presenting enterprising independent screening bodies, this section included live cinema, screenings accompanied by performance. In addition to the screening program, the festival offered workshops designed to deepen understanding of the works shown, as well as a symposium looking at the issues surrounding the current state of the moving image.
