This is a special exhibition of four new works in the “2D Painting” series on the theme of pictorial space which artist group YOF – comprising Ryu Furusawa, Takayoshi Ohara, and Tomoyuki Yanagawa – has worked on continuously since 2019.
This project reconsiders the relationship between color and space as it has repeatedly come to be treated in the context of visual art including painting, and the viewer’s independence in the act of viewing, as well as presenting new possibilities for perceptual experience.
Born in 1986 in Kanagawa Prefecture. In 2012 he completed a Masters course from the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Tokyo University of the Arts. Ohara creates images and installations on the theme of beauty and harmony in the visual arts using modern technology and interpretations.
Since 2017 he has been active as a member of YOF together with Tomoyuki Yanagawa and Ryu Furusawa.
