Event features
This workshop is primarily targeted at those with no previous experience of Nagauta Shamisen. Participants do not need to bring anything as organizers will supply all the necessary equipment. In terms of workshop content, as well as basic practice participants will learn to play “Hotarukoi,” “Sakura Sakura,” a Serinoaikata from “Kokaji,” and a Yosenoaikata from “Kanjincho” according to progress made in each session. On the final day participants will showcase what they have learned. In addition, the audience can experience the sound of Nagauta Shamisen at a professional level in a performance by the instructors.

A framework enabling participants to continue with hands-on experience (practice) of traditional performing arts
If participants wish to continue learning, we can introduce an instructor according to the participant’s area of residency. In addition, for participants of this workshop we will be organizing a “continuation class” in future workshops, aimed at helping them take their studies a step further.
