Crossings ~ Showcase vol.2, Stochholm×Tokyo×Object ~
Invited to Japan for this performance were Malin Bång, a founding member of Stockholm-based Curious Chamber Players (CCP) ensemble, composer and object player; and CCP co-founder Rei Munakata, a conductor, composer and object player. The program will consist of works by Bång and Munakata, who employ everyday objects as instruments, a work by Swedish composer Rosali Grankull, new works using objects by Crossings members Shunsuke Azuma and Noriaki Mori, and a work by Japanese composer Yukiko Watanabe, a Japanese composer who has featured in CCP projects.
Performing the program are Rei Munakata (Conductor), Asuka Takeuchi (Flute, Object), Sae Higashi (Clarinet, Object), Noriaki Mori (Saxophone, Object), Keita Maeda (Percussion, Object), Shin-ichiro Tokunaga (Guitar, Object), and Shunsuke Azuma (Cello, Object).

A project established in 2018 for the purpose of expanding the regional framework of art, rethinking different countries and cities centered on Japan as one region from a larger perspective through the intersection of experience and personal experience.
Moreover, without limiting the scope of expansion to one of region and considering art forms like music, dance, and art as sharing the same “expressive method,” the project presents ambitious experiments and works that suggest the possibility of new receptivity to visual and auditory information, including sound and body movement; something which can occur when movement, sound and space are constructed anew through the meeting (intersection) of artists in each individual field.
