Outline

This collaborative production between Japanese Butoh and Taiwanese theater aims to introduce Butoh body philosophy to abroad and introduce the Taiwanese contemporary theatre, history and customs to Japan. We will seek for new possibilities of stage expression by coexisting with the differences beyond genres and borders. By respecting each culture, we will transmit the diversity of expression to the world.

Profile

Agaxart
Agaxart is the production team, that was founded in 2020 by Butoh dancer Emiko Agatsuma. It produces innovative Butoh performances and events, and conducts Butoh workshops for not only professional dancers but also the public internationally. In this modern society with overflowing information, we aim to discover the expressions before languages and to enhance people’s creativity while exploring the relationship between the body, spirit, and soul. In recent years, we have been focusing on cultural exchange with Taiwan.
