The aim of Sekita’s “theater through a wide-angle lens” is for the actors’ bodies and the walls and floors of the theater to seem indistinguishable to the audience, and as a result dismantle for a moment the sense of prescribed distance inherent in functionality or deconstruct the audience’s (visual) perspective. The premise of this creative project was to try and create a theatrical work that would establish a new line of sight.
