  • Organization : O-kikaku
  • Section : Artistic and creative activity in Tokyo
  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Theater

Outline

Based on their acting experience to date, the actors, who are nearly 40 years old, reconsidered what lies at the creative core by writing their own plays, handling the direction, sound and lighting operations, and setting up the venue, as well as exploring environmentally friendly creative methods by minimizing the waste of resources.
For “Strong,” the actors wrote and directed the play, putting together three teams of cast members to create a relationship of mutual encouragement and inspiration.
Additionally, in “Yama-no-koe,” the actors themselves directed the play, and encouraged audience participation by having audience members hold flashlights and provide the lighting.
