  • Organization : SAC Musical Company
  • Section : None
  • Type of Grant Program : Single

Outline

This project aims to improve the quality of life of intellectual disabilities through stage-acting with the help of instructors familiar with performing arts such as drama producing, singing and dancing.
We believe it very important to show their physical expressions acquired by overcoming the barriers to people living in areas where they have few opportunities to communicate with handicapped people.
This time, the show was given during the coronavirus quarantine period, so a lot of infection control measures were taken; singing scenes were reduced as many as possible, rehearsals were made with a small number of performers at a time, PCR tests were conducted twice during rehearsals, the number of staff walking into the backyard at time was limited, and face-to-face personal meeting with audience after the show was prohibited, and instead, the questionnaires were distributed to know how they felt about the show.
This work is originally made with the motif of Doracula the vampire. The message expressed in the drama is that we should admit the different outward appearances and ways of thinking to make a society where people respect each other.
On the very day, more than a half of the desired number of audience came to see the show, and we even had an interview by Cable TV its communications Inc.
Two weeks have passed since the show was given, and we have no report of the virus infection.
The members’ physical condition management is our biggest concern. So we regard this time performance as a big success.
