Japan Society for Contemporary Music
Since it was launched in 1930 as Shinko Sakkyokuka Renmei with the aim of propagating new and free expression, the society has carried on this philosophy to the present, engaging in music-related activities as a group of composers. In 1935 it joined the International Society for Contemporary Music, taking on an additional international role. In 2019 it became an NPO, and has actively promoted the formation of a richer music culture through the organization of concerts and competitions, collaborative projects with communities and schools, international exchange activities, and more.
