Outline

In the world of classical performing arts, the standard practice during one’s 20s and 30s is to spend decades studying under a seniors/teacher and only then become a leading performer or dancer. However, for people to take on the challenge of major roles while still in their twenties and still inexperienced is a great learning opportunity for their artistic activities going forward.
This concert will feature not only the classical pieces “Azumahakkei,” “ Shimanosenzai,” and “Renjishi,” but also the new work “Tsukushi” (words by Tsushinokai, music by Imafuji Tatsujuro, Hayashi instrument arrangement by Mochizuki Satasuke). Based on the classical techniques and sensibilities that each member has developed to date, the group exchanged opinions among themselves as peers in a bid to create a performance that can be enjoyed by audiences seeing traditional performing arts for the first time.
Additionally, since it is not uncommon for young Nihon Buyo dancers to perform with simple costumes and stage settings for economic reasons, this concert will help them gain experience by performing using formal and established stage design and costumes. The main purpose of this concert is the popularization of classical performing arts, the challenge of creative activities geared towards new works, and rigorous study and training in each art form.
