Ballet Chambre West “Luna Tsuki no Monogatari Kaguya Hime” was inspired by the fact that “Hachioji Kuruma Ningyo (Nishikawa Koryuza)” was designated as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan in 2022, and was impressed by the appearance of active activities from the same hometown to the world.
Based on the Taketori Monogatari, the theme is a love story that connects the moon (LUNA) and the earth, and the story continues in which the daughter KAGUYA, who repeats folly in the lunar world, is sent to the human world to study the mind.
The work, which premiered in 2008, will be re-performed with a view to the maturity of the work, the enhancement of succession activities, and the revitalization of the region. In order to continue the honor of winning the 2011 Agency for Cultural Affairs Art Festival Excellence Award, the music, art, costumes, choreography, etc. have been reworked and performed with the aim of artistic improvement.
