Outline

This was the second Studio Performance at YOUKIZA Studio in YOUKIZA’s home base Musashi-Koganei. Studio Performance productions have been designed to enable local people to enjoy authentic puppet theater in an easy and accessible way. Turning the drawbacks of a small venue to its advantage, this performance in a condensed space allowed the audience to fully experience and enjoy the intricate movements of the puppets, the Gidayu narration/chanting, and the interplay between the shamisen accompaniment and the puppets.
