Production and presentation for musical drama

  • Organization : "Yume no ukihashi" Production
  • Section : Artistic and creative activity in Tokyo
  • Type of Grant Program : Single
  • Art Forms : Music

Outline

With historical cities as its theme, the group produces and presents new musical dramas (scripts and music), the results of which it hopes will contribute to society.
The plan is to produce works annually on the theme of “two ancient capitals,” and the focus for 2023 was Paris and Kyoto. This work illustrated the similarities between the two ancient cities, and also looked at two-way communication (there being two characters and two performers).
The work was structured to focus on the balance between spoken words and piano, achieving a level collaboration between readings and music.

Script/direction by Miyuki Furuta
Composition/piano by Syu Katayama
Readings by actor Takahiro Hotta(belong to Toei Kyoto Studios, Toei Tsurugikai)
Based on the novel “The adventures of traveling Pianist and Fermata” by Miyuki Furuta
Two 90-minute performances were given with different content
