For this edition of the Re:born project, Baobab presented a contemporary dance piece combining the historical work “Bolero” by Ravel with the Baobab repertoire piece “or Enthusiasm.”
The theme of the work is conflict and war. It looks at what lies at the heart of the maelstrom of human error, repeated over and over again. Founded on a combination of research and imagination, the work questions the modern world using the mounting sense of excitement created by the music of Bolero. For this performance, Baobab also took every precaution to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and offered a theatrical experience in which the audience felt as if they were participating in the production, rather than just being spectators.
