Profile

Touya Kai
Established in April 1992 with the aim of spreading Japanese traditional culture by actively promoting Nihon buyo, one of Japan’s proudest traditional performing arts. In addition to our own events, it hosted the “1st Naozo no Kai” in 2015 and the “2nd Naozo no Kai” in 2019, respectively. They also perform at external events such as the Tokyo Grand Tea Ceremony (hosted by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Arts Council Tokyo of the Tokyo Metropolitan Foundation for History and Culture). We are constantly striving to make Japanese dance more accessible and creative, creating and performing classical pieces as well as new works to further spread the appeal of Japanese dance to a wider audience.
