Outline

Hachioji City, Tokyo was an important area during the Sengoku period. In honor of a contemporary Sengoku warlord Hojyo Ujiteru, a festival reproducing aspects of the Sengoku period has been created for the world to enjoy.

Motohachioujichikucyoukaijichikairengoukai
Motohachioujichiku (a former Hachioji district) was founded as a castle town by Hojyo Ujiteru during the Sengoku period. During the Edo period, its silk industry flourished, and the district became one of mulberry fields to support the Silk Road. The organization in charge of The “Hojyo Ujiteru” festival currently has 28 member groups, which work to promote mutual communication and friendship, discuss common issues, and implement activities.
