This project spent a year in dialogue with Ecuadorian and Latin American feminists to create socially engaged art in Japan and Ecuador.
In November, we invited Ecuadorian feminist artists Andrea.Z.Rojas and Diana Gardeneira to Japan for exhibitions and workshops. Through these activities the program promoted artistic and cultural exchanges and created connections between Japan and Latin America.
Hilos que Luchan,Manos que Sanan
Hilos que Luchan Manos que Sanan was formed to empower women and promote international exchange through collaboration between artists and citizens in Latin America and Japan.
Through exchanges between Japan and Latin America, the group will promote research on the gender gap in each other’s countries and share possible solutions to the problem.
The group will also organize art workshops between Ecuadorian artists and local residents in Japan to create a network for international exchange and efforts to address the gender gap through art.
