“The Bacchae-Holstein Milk Cows,” which premiered in 2019 and won the Kishida Kunio Drama Award, has been performed overseas for the first time at Germany’s Theater der Welt. The work is a bold meditation on the themes and structure of the Greek tragedy “The Bacchae” (written by Euripides) and features a modern version of the story. Emulating the structure of an ancient Greek tragedy, it comprises actors and a chorus.

In 2011, playwright/director Satoko Ichihara formed the solo theatrical unit Q. In September 2019, it was incorporated as General Incorporated Association Q.
