Outline

The Chiyoda Art Festival’s action policy is to “deliver high-quality music to everyone from children to the elderly.”Through activities such as
the management of auditioned choirs (adults and children) featuring top guest choir leaders, the dispatch of musicians to elementary and junior high schools as well as welfare facilities and performances at Kyoritsu Auditorium and Hibiya Step Square, the festival’s goal is to develop and promote arts and culture by giving as many people as possible of all ages firsthand experience of high-quality music.

Chiyoda Art Festival Artistic Director/tenor singer Takehiro Shida
Graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts, completed a doctoral program in opera at the same university and was awarded a doctorate in music. He came first in the vocal category of the 74th Music Competition of Japan. Won the Matsushita Award. He was awarded the Gotoh Memorial Culture Award for New Opera Performer and honed his craft studying in New York. While a student he won a prize in the Accadia Competition for Operatic Voice.
Shida has performed with orchestras such as the NHK Symphony Orchestra, Tokyo Philharmonic, The Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra, and Seiji Ozawa Music Academy, as well as with numerous conductors including Seiji Ozawa, Michiyoshi Inoue,Tadaaki Otaka, and Kenichiro Kobayashi.
