1. The creation of new works by 16 scientist-artist groups and 3 individuals
On display at main venue Komaba Museum were artworks resulting from the activities to date of 16 scientist-artist groups and 3 individuals who had shared exchange and interaction throughout 2021 and 2022, as well as new artworks/installations created for this exhibition.
2. The Multi-purpose Hall in Komaba served as an exchange hub for 8 scientist-artist groups and one individual to interact directly with visitors. At the Hall, the 8 scientist-artist groups and one individual who began their exchange in August 2023 exhibited prototypes and details of their exchange process, also introducing their activities directly to visitors.
3. A variety of experiential programs
The event provided a variety of ways in which to take part. These included workshops by exhibiting scientists and artists; a text providing the opportunity to look at the various works on display from multiple perspectives (Takuya Nakao’s “Garasu-sei no chien”(The glass delay)); the sale of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) supporting this program (and proving participation in the program); and fresh public access to documentary film of past events as well as metaverse exhibition space.
Seventeen scientists took part, including Toshiaki Ichinose, Shuichiro Tomita, Hiraku Nakajima, Mayumi Fukunaga, and Tatsuki Kuwagaki. Participating artists numbered 27 and included Arai Midori, USHIO, Ken Kitano, Koji Maekawa, and Yuki Yamamoto. Event staff comprised Kanako Iriguchi, Maki Utsunomiya, Aisa Sakaguchi, Aya Tsuboi, Asako Hasegawa, Toshihisa Fujiwara, and Takako Yamaguchi.
